How soon to apply for PR card renewal

I read in some places that you should apply 6 months before the current card expires and also read somewhere else that it is 9 months. These are both from IRCC website so I’m confused. Which one is it?

I would suggest applying 1 year before the card expires if you have met the residency requirement.

Reason is Secondary review.

In case your file went to secondary review you will have to wait at least 1 year for seeing the decision made status.

So in order to be on the safe side 9 months to 1 year is the best legit bet.
