How soon can I get a phone plan.. a contract without a phone!

Hi,

I am just wondering if I'd be able to get a phone contract the day I arrive in Canada. I already have a good phone, so I don't plan on buying a new one on contract in Canada but I am worried about communicating as soon as I arrive. If anyone know the procedure for this, kindly assist me with this.

u said u want to be communicating is it international or within canada...as ur cell fone plan will only allow u to call in canada for free but international calls u will need a calling card or some other service. so there are two things
1. ur local and long distance calling (in canada) ----most likely cell fone plan will cover for free
2. international calling---need a calling card
