If I order GCMS notes on March 1st and get them on March 30th, what date would they actually take the notes from the case file? Would it be somewhere within the last 7 days before the deadline? I'm just trying to figure out how recent the notes are by the time we get them.

Usually within a few days of when you request them in my experience, so when you receive them the information is usually at least 3 weeks out of date..

jb,

When you get your GCMS notes via email. ( electronic notes) You will see 2 dates:

The first one will be the email itself and will state something such as this:

This is further to your request under the Privacy Act received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada on February 1, 2016, for:

Then, when you click the attachment to retrieve your GCMS notes:

At the very top in bold, you will see GCMS Information Application Request, below it,
requested identifier( just the request file number for atip ).

Below this you will see Requested date.

The date on the email was the literal or actual date in which you made the ATIP request. The date on the top of the file that states requested date will be the date in which they pulled the information related to your file/notes.

Anything on this Requested date or before will be reflected as what what is in your file.

Hope this helps you.
