Hey guys,

Do you know how much experience was required for CEC by a canadian grad?

I see that some people for CEC got rejection coz they dont have a 24 month work experience. I graduated from canada and applied in june 2012 and I was told that in my case I require 12 months of accumulated work experience.

Please let me know what were the work experience for CEC in 2012 for canadian grads.

12 months of full time (at least 30hrs per week) or the equivalent in part time, skilled employment - NOC 0, A or B.

Hey CEC2013,

I am sort of confused because according to the new laws introduced in Jan 2013, the skilled worker experience has been reduced to 1 year. I applied in 2012 with less than 2 years of accumulated experience. Was this one year law applicable in 2012 too for Canadian grads? The reason I ask this is because some people applied under CEC for 2012 and got rejected because the work experience was not 24 months (2 years). Also this link says that the 1 year req is recent (and it used to be 2 years before). just not sure if it was 2 years for canadian graduates too?

Here is a link that it used to be 24 months before. Just not sure if it was 24 months also for canadian graduates.

I dont know how to insert links (it wont let me insert) but please form proper link from above.

Regards,

Post-grads were required to show 12 months of experience, if they had attended an educational institution (including a diploma and so forth). Temporary foreign workers were required to show 24 months. Check this out..

Very last paragraph.

Thanks CEC 2013.

Also I was wondering if they look for continuous 1 year experience or do they tolerate gaps in work experience. Like if you have accumulated 12 months (as in more than one employer) with gaps in between would that jeopardize the situation?

"As a graduate of a Canadian post-secondary educational institution, applicants must have one year of full-time (or equivalent) work experience in Canada after graduation. The work experience must be gained within two years of applying under the CEC program."

"Within two years.." would imply that you may have more than one employer and it can be over a longer period, but no more than 2 years (at the time of your application in 2012). Also, the experience you are listing under your application as qualifying needs to be under NOC 0, A or B.

Check this out.. Look down for Post-Graduate stream.
