HOW MUCH TRUE IS THIS ??

PEOPLE ARE TELLING ME TO GO FOR 1 YEAR COURSE AND THEN DO A ONE SEMESTER COURSE OF GAS(GENERAL ARTS AND SCIENCE ) TO GET A 3 YEAR WORK PERMIT
In other words if i complete 1 year course then when i apply for GAS i get admission in last semester of GAS program so 1 year of previous study and 2 years of GAS study = 3 years of study = 3 years of work permit

ur trying to exploit a loop hole in the system or a workaround so even if people say it works there is a slight risk if the loop hole is closed . So be prepared for a fallback option make back up plans.

Hello. I have completed my studies in canada and trust me I dont even see it is a loophole.
You must show CIC that you have studied (continuous -full time) in Canada for 2 years or more for a 3 year work permit.

By doing one year of one course and last semester of GAS - you show only one and half year (assuming one semester is 4 to 5 months long). Besides you have to show study permit of 2 years atleast plus transcript or degree ( at least two year in length program). Even though your GAS degree might show you as a 2/3 year degree holder - you have stayed in canada for only one and half years.

so, the studies dont relate to no. of credits ? but to the duration ? if i take a 1 yr course that has 60 credits to it,wont i be eligible for 2-3 yrs of work permit ?

I am not sure you can do 60 credits in one year. CIC as far as i know looks at the duration of your course and time you studied not the credits.

Even I have heard about this and I am being advised by my consultant to pursue this path to secure a three year post graduate work permit, But I am a little skeptical after reading this thread.
