How much time after medical, NOv 2013 application

I had applied for PR in CEC in Nov last year, got medical in June this year.
Recently they asked for T4 and employer letter. Any idea how long would it take to get PR from this point?
Our temporary work permit is expiring in November this year, can I expect PR before Nov (3 months from now)? or rather I should go ahead and apply for work permit extension/renewal ?
I also heard if I apply for work permit, they rather process your PR faster, any idea ?

The way things are going on nowadays nothing can be said about timelines .... I would suggest apply for BOWP

thanks, also forgot mention that , when i checked online status it says, We started processing your application on September 9, 2014.
