I was just wondering how much each of you sent with your applications upfront? I did mine through a lawyer and we sent everything:

- police clearance certificate
- upfront medical done
- passport photos x 8
- copies of all pages of passport
- paid landing fees etc..

My wife (sponsor) was asked to go and see the lawyer next week to pay for the CSQ And complete that form, but everything that goes to Mississauga or that will be requested by them has been submitted all in one go, has anyone else done it this way?

I included everything upfront.

you're supposed to include everything upfront with an outland application. with inland, you wait on the medical. and with any app you can wait to pay the RPRF, but you risk adding time to your process by waiting for CIC to request it from you. anything noted on the checklist as needing to be included in your application is required to have a complete application in the eyes of CIC. skipping anything means they could send back your app as incomplete. your lawyer instructed you correctly. and anyone here who was/is trying to have a relatively painless wait time did the same.

Thanks guys, I understand it better now, I wasn't aware that Outland apps had to do upfront medicals and I always wondered why people were waiting to be called on to do them, thanks for clearing that up :) although I know we could have done this ourselves I found going through the lawyer was well worth the extra cost to get everything right, especially when CIC updated one or two of the forms he sent is the updated ones straight away so there were no delays putting our app together, without his help we would have certainly missed this only to have them request the updated versions

as long as you feel secure with your application and your lawyer, that's all that matters. good luck :)

Some people either are impatient and do not want to wait and rather take a chance that they can send it in later with no delay or the applicant is pregnant and can't get an x-ray until after birth.

But the best thing is to send in everything upfront.
