really whats the point in speculating or making plans on something that may or may not happen at all. I sepeculate that i might win a lottery sometimes but it never happens same goes for this bill.

I have been checking in on Bill C-6 for updates which they said was due to pass for Canada Day. No news as of yet was it struck down by the Senate? If so, extremely disappointing this has caused my family a lot of grief

Best thing to do is to try not to let it aggravate you and let it happen when it happens. My wife and I are convinced that by the time this bill takes effect, she will be able to apply under the current rules anyway so it doesn't matter to us anymore.

No - it wasn't struck down by the Senate. The Senate is on break until the fall. So no point looking for updates over the next few months.

Where is your pride in earning this citizenship? Where is your love to Canada? Citizenship of convenience, more like it.

It aggravates the hell out in me to see how some repay the fact of living in peace and quiet, the fact of probably having a better live and all they can do is bitching, whinging and moaning. I love this country, Canada did a lot for me and I will be forever grateful.

Look at the bright side. After being in your so called "jail", you will get your citizenship at lot faster and sooner than the old 3/4 rule. Your application would also be stuck in a long progress if C-6 was implemented now since your application would part of the flooded applications of the 3/5 rule. Bet you never thought of that.

Which would you rather take

1. 3/4 rule, long processing time.
2. Wait extra year, get citizenship faster.
3. 3/5 rule, be part of the flood of applications, longer processing time.

People are in hurry to get their citizenship because of all those crazy politicians who keeps changing the rules and laws all the time.
