You should have send the application with the single credential report itself as you were safe on points, nevertheless I believe now it's better to wait till 18th & send it and you also have the satisfaction of not worrying if you had not :P you shall still make it within the Cap. Good luck!!

I suspect you will be fine. It clearly states at the top CANADIAN EVALUATION SUMMARY - Master's Degree. So you will get your 23 points. But I would still follow up with the inept WES and make sure they correct it online since CIC checks with the WES system the details of the ECA. WES should also send you a correct version, so you have it in case you're called in for an interview later on. But I would go ahead and send the application once you receive the ECA. It's clearly an omission on WES's part. Good luck.

Hello there people. Master's degree is valid only if from the following fields:

Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Podiatry, Optometry, Law, Chiropractic Medicine, or Pharmacy.

Source: CIC

Search for "CIC Education points calculation" on Google and open first result. I would have posted the direct link but this forum doesn't allow it.

So most of the MBA holders from India doesn't stand chance to qualify for 23 points. You should be happy with 21 points obtained from Bachelor's degree

:(

Do I need to submit two WES reports to CIC ? Or only the corrected one is good enough ?

Hi guys,

I urgently need help on the below part as I am preparing my application for ECA to WES:

I need to fill up the field "Year of Award (if applicable)" in the "Academic Records Request Form".
My convocation degree states:
"We the chancellor...confer the Degree of "Bachelor of Engineering" (in its /Computer Engineering Branch) on XYZ for the examination held in May-2010 at the Convocation held on 5th February, 2011 ".

My final examination of 8th semester was in the month of May-2010 and I passed it then coz the result came 3 months later in Aug-2010.

Now what should I fill in the field "Year of Award (if applicable)" in the "Academic Records Request Form"? Should I fill "2010" or "2011"

Requesting you all to please help on the same asap..!! Thnks in advance !!

All,

I just received my ECA today. To my surprise it did not list credential about my Masters ( M.Tech) in the the report. Only my bachelor degree is listed in the credential report but nothing about my masters degree.

The CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY is still shows as Masters.

I am about to send the files tomorrow but confused with this report. Online report still list the credential for Masters which as Authentication set to None.

Do we have an email address to contact WES about this issue ?

Even with 4 years equivalency to Canadian bachelor degree will get 21 points and will stay at 71.

Shall I still send the file tomorrow without waiting for the update from WES on this ?

Please share your views Seniors.

Why wait. Pls send the application immediately.

Hi,

As the results came in 2010, you can write that. Any hows, this should not be a very critical information. Don't worry!!

Thnks happy16. Btw , is it allowed if I fill the aforesaid "Academic Records Request Form" by hand by taking the printout of the blank version AND NOT by filling in on computer and then taking a print of it? That way I can ask the University guy about the correct answer when I am going there tomorrow for submission of transcripts for attestion; they might know better, I guess !!

MAY 2010 would be appropriate as that is when the course got over, irrespective of when the result was declared or convocation ceremony held.

I did the same and got the ECA done without hiccups.

Thanks a lot CanOI !! Just another query- I haven't yet applied to WES for ECA by paying the fees online and hence donot have a "WES Ref #" as of yet. But the "Academic Records Request Form" asks for the same (although they state "if applicable"). Also, I am planning to go tomorrow to the university for submitting my transcripts for attestation. I will do the application after that. My exact query is:

Is it allowed to first submit the transcripts to the university for attestation first and then submit the application in WES and thus keep the "WES ref #" field blank in the "Academic Records Request Form"? I am gonna ask the university to seal this form alongwith the transcripts tomorrow and hence I am asking this question .

Thanks in advance once again!!

I had not included the request form in my application.

Yes it's allowed but you have write the ref# in the envelopes so that WES would easily group your documents, otherwise, you will give them a hard time and this might cause delay.
