I am bit confused how CIC or London visa office calculates education points......i read the immigration guide manual, since i got bachelor degree in engineering of 5 years of study plus 12 years from elementary till secondary that is total of 17 years yet Lvo gave my friend 20 points only who have same qualification as me.........also.....my wife have a 3 years diploma in nursing....and 12 years of education from elementary till secondary....how much point she will get.

2- do i have to show elementary certificat till seconday so they can calculate how many total years of education i recieved....i am bit confused or only university plus secondary is enough.......

thanks.

Dear, as far as I know your file(MI3) is in LVO after getting PER, so what's the panic all about now?????

1) Secondary school (high school) diploma or less: 0 points

2) A one-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship or university degree, and at least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 3 points

3) A two or three-year diploma, trade certificate, apprenticeship or university degree, and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 4 points

4) A master’s degree or PhD and at least 17 years of full-time or full-time equivalent studies: 5 points

I know this in detail, besides this analysis is for accompaning spouse not the main applicant......my question is how CIC distripute points on EDUCATION ........for a bachelor degree holder , 5 years, and 12 years till secondary high school AND another case is for a 3 year diploma holder with 12 years of education till secondary.

You are asking education points for PA or Spouse....?

1)master’s degree or PhD and at least 17 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 25 points
2)two or more university degrees at the bachelor’s level and at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 22 points
3)three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 22 points
4)university degree of two years or more at the bachelor’s level and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 20 points
5)two-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 20 points
6)one-year university degree at the bachelor’s level and at least 13 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 15 points
7)one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and at least 13 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 15 points
8)one-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship and at least 12 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study. 12 points
9)completed high school. 5 points

If you studied less than the number of years listed with your highest degree or diploma, you must award yourself the points that match your years of study.

Example 1: If you have a master’s degree but have completed only 15 years of full-time study, award yourself 22 points.
Example 2: If you have a three- or four-year bachelor’s degree, and at least 14 years of education, award yourself 20 points.

thank u coolguy for ur effort, but i already gone through the CIC website and IMM guide 07 that descripes the education assesment but my confusion came from i awarded myself a 22 point but a friend of mine who have same degrees as me got 20 point only from LVO so i would expect i will recieve same point but i still didnt figure out how they give 20 points if i got a 5 year bachelor degree and done 12 years of education till secondary.............do i have to submit my elementary ,first grade, school certificate so they can calculate the number of full time education till high school graduation......hope u got my point......

aslo how much points will a 3 year diploma holder with 12 years of elementary till secondary high school will get in the assessment as Principal applicant.....

hope u understand my questions........

1- PA with a 5 year bachelor degree with 12 years till secondary full time study.
2- PA with a 3 year diploma certificate with 12 years of full time education till secondary as well.

thanks

As per my understanding, if you have bachelor degree with 2 yrs or more , you will be awarded 20 points (same applied to me, I am B.Com with 3 yrs ).

I have CA Qualification but that does not count here for awarding points.

If your spouse have 3 years diploma certificate with 12 years HSC, she will be awarded 15 points.

Hope you got the answer to your question.

Regards
Cool

thanks again cool guy,

hmmmm......thats what i expected first time but i still didnt understand.......for example in the case of my wife if she applies as PA ,wouldnt this apply to her ( A two-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study 20 Points) or even this ( A three-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 15 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study 22 Points ).

as she have 3 years diploma + 12 years thats total of 15 years of full time education......or i calculate it wrong.

what they mean by full time education if they didnt inclucde the post secondary years......in every place of the world secondary education is 12 years from 1st grade till 12th.......thats 12 years......can u explain to me this point plz...!!!

Dear Ramzy, please follow the link below, it may helps you regarding your questions:

if you are main applicant, you will get 20 points because for one bachelor degree only 20 points are awarded regardless of the duration and for your spouse's qualification you will get 4 points.
