Hi guys,

I'm gathering documents for sponsoring my husband, which I think wil take 2 months.
I'm wondering how long will the up-front medical exam be valid, in order to determine if he can do it immediately or should wait for the documents to be ready and then do the exam.

I went over CIC's website, the guides and forms, but didn't find the information.

Thank you all.

Have the medical done at the very last. It will be valid for exactly one year only.

One year

Definitely do it at the last moment before applying. I made a mistake of going for medicals before all the papers were ready. Even though I had everything planned out to be ready in 2 weeks after the medicals it didn't go exactly as planned. Took us 7! months instead of 2 weeks to get all the paperwork together. Now that means medical expires after just 4 month after we apply and will definitely have to redo it. On top of being expensive it also means delays. So get the documents ready first
