Hello,

I am lebanese in Sweden and my permanent resident application is processed in London.
I received a request from the immigration center to send my passport and 2 photos to obtain the visa. I sent it on the 25th of October and I did not know that "Royal Mail" was on strike.
My passport was stuck for 3 weeks at the same place in UK. I thought it was lost, I made an official complaint to the swedish mail, which started an investigation. Following my complaint, my passport was finally delivered to the embassy on the 13th of November.
It was painful for 3 weeks.

I would like to know when will I receive my passport back? I am worried because my visa in Sweden will end on the 19th of December.
Is it possible for my husband to bring the passport in person? I do not trust the mail anymore.

Thank you,

Re: Combien de temp pour me retourner mon passeport?

Bonsoir,

Je ne parle pas francais, ni la majorite de les gents en ce forum. Je recommande que vous ecrivez en anglais pour recevoir une reponse.

Your grasp of French Karlshammer looks as good as your English :-)

Thanks, colsy!

The unfortunate part is that that post up there is pretty much the extent of my French skills right now, though I'm still studying and trying to learn more. :)

Have you thought of using UPS or FedEX? It seems like a cheaper option than having a person deliver your passport...

I agree with you though that the Royal Mail strike is ridiculous, and am sorry to hear your passport got caught up in it. I know I would have freaked out!

Based on other completed applications listed on trackitt.com, it looks like you can expect to wait anywhere from 2-4 weeks. You can check for yourself here: http://www.trackitt.com/canada-immigration-trackers/family-class. Select London as the visa office and `spouses and partners`as the family class.

one can never rely on the postal services any longer. it looks like cases with bad experience become frequent now. the most safest way is collect the passport in person.

My passport took exactly 3 weeks to arrive back to me (UK address) from the time it arrived at the London visa office.
