How long to receive PR card from Ottawa in USA?

Hi there,

My husband was approved to come to Canada on November 15. He received a letter stating docs to send to Ottawa (photo copy of passport, two passport pics, fill in a form, and provide a prepaid courier envelope) which he mailed off.

I believe what they send back to him in the prepaid courier envelope is his PR card.

Two questions:
1. Is this understanding correct?
2. How long does it ususally take for them to mail that out?

Trying to plan his move date.

What they will be sending back is a "Confirmation of Permanent Residence". This document shows that your application was approved and that you have permission to enter Canada and become a permanent resident (often referred to as "landing"). You then can enter Canada, present the COPR along with your passport (and customs documents). You provide the immigration officer a Canadian address. Your PR card is mailed to the Canadian address.

Any clue on how long it takes to process? He mailed November 17th and they received by the 20th.
We were hoping his move date will be before Christmas.

I saw on some forums 2 weeks between request and received and others it seems Nov 2nd people are still waiting....
