How long for Sponsor to be notified of application receipt?

According to the good folks at Canada Post, our application for Outland was received Dec. 31/14 at CIC Mississaauga.

How long typically does the sponsor wait for formal CIC acknowledgment that they've received and started on the Sponsor portion?

For Person to be sponsored lives outside of Canada (OUTLAND):

Spouse, common‑law partner or dependent child: (Working on applications received on October 16, 2014)

Parents and grandparentsNote: (working on applications received on or before April 30, 2011)

Adopted children, children to be adopted, orphans and other family classes: Processed daily on a priority basis

I'm guessing it's going to take 1.5 to 2 months?

My application package was received on Oct 28th. I'm at 73 days and still waiting for my AOR (Acknowledgment of receipt) and soon after the AOR comes the SA (sponsorship approval). There are people in the Oct board who have been waiting longer. Right now CIC is saying 61 days, but that is way back from Dec 17th. Also, I applied outland.... So it's going to depend how you applied.
