We just submitted the FBI Certificate (Police Certificate) application in United States in September 2010. The CIC and FBI sites both mentioned "in general" it takes 12-16 weeks to get the result back. I just want to know if it really takes that long from someone who went thru the same scenario? if you have done it recently, how long does it take?

My partner sent his prints and the application to the FBI at the beginning of June, and received the check at the beginning of August.
