How long does it take to get notified that they have recieved my visa application my mail?

About 1 month ago I mailed my application for a spouse visa for my wife to Canada from England. The English post office said it would take less than 7 business days to get to Canada. So it should have arrived in Canada well over 2 weeks ago.

How long does it normally take for them to send me an email or regular mail saying that they have received my application? Is this delay related to backlog from the Canada Post strike? Is it normal to take this long or is it unusual?

Around 8 to 10 weeks.

If you look at the spreadsheet tracker, most of us have been getting our acknowledgement of receipt in around 30 days. So I think you will be hearing soon!
