Hi,

I just want to double check what I've read so far on obtaining the PR card. The usual steps are;

1. Upon getting COPR, land in Canada (to a state of your choosing).
2. Apply for PR card.
3. Wait the number of days specified in https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html which is 47 days as of the first week of October 2018.

I ask because I've seen in one forum that they give you a PR card right away upon arrival, and want to check if this is accurate.

Thanks.

You do not get a PR card on arrival. All that happens assuming you can provide a Canadian address for the card to be mailed to is the CBSA officer processing your landing will process your PR card application into the system on arrival, you will need to wait for the card .

If you cannot provide a Canadian address on landing then you will need to apply for a PR card yourself once you have an address.

By the way get used to referring to provinces in Canada not states, the US has states not Canada.
