Hello there!

Me and my husband are thinking about applying for immigration under the FSW.
Assuming that we pass all the requirements, how long do we have to accept (or decline) to move to Canada?
I mean, is there a time limit on the offer, or we can decide to move whenever we want..? ::)

I'm asking because we would probably need to sell our house here,
so that we have more money with us and we would like to have some time to make arrangements...

if you dont have job offer dont even assume.

Do you have approved job offer, or Canadian Education studies.

Everything has changed

Thank you for answering Speedoflight!

I know about the changes, but I'm not really worried since I'm overqualified (!)..

My main concern is the time I'll have AFTER my immigration approval, to accept or decline to move to Canada..
So if you or anyone else has a valid answer please let me know!!
:)

Wrong. CIC will start accepting applications May 4th for applicants without job offers through the Federal Skilled Program. You don't need a job offer in Canada or Canadian expiernce to apply. Please don't post wrong information.

You are saying what is written on CIC website.

You have to explain the true story

backlog of 100k
and limited number per NOC that CIC is going to accept

plus they are not going to proceed with new applications that has no job offers before backlog clearance

:)

so its
NO

If u are through the process and visa got stamped on ur passport, Then u can enter canada till the validity of ur visa which would be 1 year time from ur Madical Done or Passport expiry which ever is earlier.. The whole process of Immigration can take up 1-2 yrs depending upon case to case ...

In other words, you would have a few months to decide based on the visa expiry stamped on your passport. The visa will expire with your medicals expiring. Medicals are valid for 1 yr but your PR visa may be issued 6 months later (for example), which means you have 6 months left to enter the country and officially "land". At that point, you should be able to prove that you have sufficient funds to survive and/or show an employment letter from a Canadian employer.

So, I guess I'll have about 6 months minimum to decide..

That's good to know!

Thank you all for your answers!!
