How long did you wait to file after your wedding?

Married Sept 2011, Applied March 2012.

Reason: It took forever to get everything! Plus figuring out what the papers meant and getting hubby's FBI, birth certificate etc.

Married May 22, 2009. Lived together since June 2006.

Filed April 2012. We want to move to Canada because of our son, but also because I have a good job offer in my hometown.

we married 07th sep. 2011 and applied in may 2012.

It took us forever to get all documents and my husband came in april 2012 to visit me and we finished the application then together before sending it.

Got Married on January 2012--and filled August 1st.

For one thing my husband and I are both terrible procrastinators, we were simply enjoying living together after getting married (didn't want to think about paperwork). 2 Months before my visa expired we starting contemplating how to go about our future and where we wanted to settle down. Couldn't make up our minds until it was too late to apply for an extension. So I came back down to the states...still couldn't make up our minds, until finally after a month of returning to the states we agreed we rather raise our kids near the forest than near the desert (almost May by then). =b It just took a while to finally put everything together.

The only regret Ihave right now is that I have not seen this forum before I submitted our application... I could have presented it in a more organized way!

that's too funny.......well we won't be together for our 1 year anniversary since I am going in 28 days..LOL...but this should be the only one we miss.......fingers crossed anyways!!!! but you guys might be.....how sweet of an anniversary present would that be... ;D

Yeah I was thinking that since you're going around the 1st, you probably wouldn't be there still on the 19th , but it's the bigger picture that counts. We're reallllyyy hoping we can be together for ours. That would be an amazing anniversary gift lol We'll just have to wait and see But you guys can still celebrate a little early, since you'll be celebrating anyway

I'm jealous
We got married in March this year and we are gonna file next week. I'll go visit in November for a few days. I can't believe we are gonna be separate for a year soon. Next March seems around the corner.
