How Long Before Myself is Appoved to Sponsor My Wife in the Philippines

I was just wondering! I just sent in the paperwork to the processing center in Canada. It arrived yesturday. My question is how long before I know that I am apporved to be able to Sponsor my wife who lives in the Philippines.

I believe it should be from 30-45 days.

I did send in everything in even her sponsorship supporting information. Will they look at all that right away after I am approved. There is 1 supporting document that will expire april 17th 2011. They are only good for one year. If that document expires in that time, will that delay our processes.

At present they are looking at applications received Dec 22, 2010. Once you receive an update from ECAS or a letter in the mail with their decision, your package will be sent to the Canadian Embassy which you chose in the application and it will sit in a queue, as other applications are finalized, others are opened. You can check the timeline on your embassy from the link provided above. Note: there will not be a lot of updates on ECAS, if the embassy requires anything from you they will mail or email you directly. Hope this helps.

What do u mean! They wont even look at our Sponsorship papers for a few weeks. Also when I myself as the person sponsoring my wife is approved will they look at her Documents right away after that. I am new at all this sorry for the lame questions. Just trying to figure this all out

Sorry mate, I am afraid so. The office receives a high volume of applications from all over the world. As I said, there is approximately 43 days timeline from the time they receive your application to the time they will look through yours. In addition, the webiste also lists that 80% of applications from the Phillipines are completed within 9 months. I can't tell you when they will look at the remaining documents, it will depend on the workload in the Philipines however usually 2-3 weeks after you receive notification that you are eligible to sponsor. The entire process may not take 9 months however in some cases they do. There are a ton of threads that are being hosted by people from the Philipines on this forum, they may be able to give you more information in that regard.
