How long after RPRF Request do they request your Passport?

Hi There,

I had a request to pay the RPRF on April 3rd as well as send an updated personal history by May 2nd. I sent the receipt and the personal history to them the same day. Does anyone know how long after this I will hear from them? Is this one of the last stages in my application? I am hoping the next step is a passport request. Do you think I will have to wait until May 2nd until they look at my application again?

My timeline is as follows:
Application received by Ottawa on March 28th 2012
Medicals requested and receieved by Ottawa April 2012

Hi Josie281,

First of all Congratulations on your application progress. You are almost there. Since you have already submitted RPRF and Personal history on the same day, they should be receiving these in next couple days (if you sent them by post/FedEx). They don't have to wait until May 2nd...it's only dead line for you to send the RPRF and Personal history. I believe you should get your PPR probably in next 2-3 weeks...I can say max by end of Apr 2013. Wish you good luck.

By the way, is your Visa office CPP-Ottawa? Why did they ask for your personal history now?...is it just because your application was received at CIO a long back?

They've asked me the same. I've sent them the RPRF and Personal history 10 days ago. Still nothing. Hope we get it soon

Yes my visa is being processed in the CPP-Ottawa visa office. They asked for an updated personal history since March 2012 as its been so long since they have recieved my application that they want to know what I have been up to. I was not one of the 'forgotton Buffalo applicants' but I sent my applicantion to the Nova scotia office at the time all the Buffalo applicants were being transfered there so I was probably mixed in with the batch and also forgotten about. My application was then sent to Cpp-Ottawa shortly after that. I am already in Canada so I paid for my RPRF online and emailed them the receipt. Fingers crossed I hear something soon but seeing how long it has taken up until this point I think I will be at least a few more months.

Hi Guys- They asked me to pay the RPRF online and mail the passport and biodata. My question is how to send the prepaid envelops? Can I buy them from FEDEX/USPS? I appreciate your input.

congrats man.. did you send them your personal history or police certificate?? i think they only entertain canada post.. so you can attach the return envelope with xpress post. go to canada post office and thell let you know.

Guys please keep this topic running and post your updates accordingly as this is the most IMPORTANT question in everyones mind as CIC requested these documents to almost everyone and the time consumed after submitting these papers is a mystery to all. :'(
