Hi,

I have 1.5 years experience as " Deputy Manager " In a mutual fund - although my work was investment and credit analysis
I also have 1.5 years experience as analyst in investment banking
All my experience are post graduation but my first experience comes under NoC 0 as it says manager and second experience under NoC 1 . Will both be counted for my 3 years of work experience?
Please help . Thanks in advnce

So, total experience would be 3 years right?
My friend said only 2 years of experience be counted? And it is up to IRCC whether to combine or not.
Please throw some light!

1.5 + 1.5 = 3, not 2. Your friend doesn't seem to understand simple arithmetic.

IRCC will combine them if you are able to provide the requisite documents.

Thanks again!

As per him "In which occupation you have spend more time that you can set as your primary NOC and the other one as secondary. It is IRCC’s decision whether to take your secondary occupation into consideration or not. As per the rules 1.5years of experience is counted as 1 year as it is less than 2 years. So as per your statement your total work experience is 2 years including your secondary occupation"

Thanks for the quick response as well!

Your friend is wrong in all possible senses.

Primary job is the job which you intend to do when you move to Canada and on whose basis you publish your Job Bank data. The only criteria with the primary job is that you need to be employed in your primary NOC for at least 1 continous year and that's it. It is not necessary that the primary NOC is the NOC in which you had spent most time.

Let's say, I worked as an engineer (NOC A) with company A for 2 years and then later on got promoted and moved to management (NOC 0) within the same company and have been working there since 1 year (continous), what should be my primary NOC? If I intend to keep working as engineer, my primary NOC would be A, if I want to keep working as a management, it would be NOC 0.

And no, 1.5 years of experience is considered as 1.5 years, as long as you have documents to support it, and not 1 or 2 or any random number. If you have worked for 1.5 years somewhere and 1.5 years some other place, you will be considered for 3 years and get points for 3 years, as long as your documents says 1.5 years or 18 months.

Note: All years assumed that you were working full-time, minimum 30 hours a week.

Thanks so much. still waiting for my ECA.
Meanwhile, I have one more doubt in my first experience I worked for 1 year and 3 months in Company A, then got transferred to parent of Company A where I worked for 2 months. ( similar experience and NOC) . Should I get reference letter from both ?

If you were on two different payrolls, then, yes.

I see. Thank you so much.
Actually I need to wait for 3 more months in my current firm to complete 3 years experience.

See
After my UG
-Worked 3 months in small scale firm- NOC 1122
Then I did my MBA
Joined a financial services firm
- worked 1 year 3 months ( NOC 1122)
Then transferred
-worked 2 months ( NOC 1122)
Then switched to investment banking
- working for 1 year 6 months ( NOC 1112)
So basically if I can't include that 3 months of pre MBA work ex. I need to wait for 3 more months ?
Sorry for multiple questions dotslash227!

You need to wait for 3 month to claim points for 3 years. However, you can still go ahead and submit your EE profile. The profile takes in your start and end date and only start date (if you are currently working). The system will give you points automatically when you complete your 3 years accordingly.

Hi,
As said earlier my previous company not giving me reference letter ( with JD) . What are my alternatives ? Can I get it from a senior official as my reporting boss has moved out ??

Hey guys please help ! while creating EE profile i have mentioned 6 years of experience (if i claim less i will not be eligible for FSW) and in CRS i will get points for only three years, i worked with two employer ( with current employer my experience 5 years 11 months) and 6 months with previous employer and it will difficult to get letter from my previous employers now.

1- My question is do i need to get reference letter from both employer ? or only current employer letter will suffice (as my 6 years will be completed by the time i get ITA.

2- From where experience will count the day we create EE profile or the day we receive ITA ?

Thank you please answer my query

You can get it from a senior official. If the reference letter is not a company letter head, you need to get it notarised.

1. You need to get reference letters of all the employers for whom you are claiming CRS points.
2. Your experience is counted from the day you start doing your job.
