How early can I get to Canada before the program start date?

Dear all,

I'm accepted by the U of Guelph and wondering how soon can I go to Canada from US (I'm from China but I just graduated my Masters in US.). The program start date is Jan 1 2013, can I enter Canada in November 1 2012 (two months before the program start date)?

i dont see why not as long as u have all the required documents , study permit etc
