Let's suppose I get my study permit accepted.

Then what? I buy my ticket and travel to Canada.

What happens as soon as I get off of the plane?

when u fly before u get down they give u a customs form simple questions about stuff u brought.....normally you dont have any thing that u have to declare on that from.....then when u get down u take that form and ur visa passport to immigration they issue a study permit and then u take ur bags and pass customs where u hand over that form.....sometimes they might pull u over and ask u to open ur bags to inspect...sometime this sequence may be different but in essence u have to fill customs form get a study permit and then go out...
