That makes sense to me too +1. I'm trying to reply to a guy, who offered help with IM, but the system simply doesn't allow me to do so.

I received a fair amount of personal message and most of the time I think they shouldn't (at least to me)! If they need help, just create a new thread or continue the existing one.

Newbies don't even need few posts to send PMs. They could just send immediately after signing up.
