Hey,

Iam doing the final touches to the application for sponsoring my wife. I was wondering how did you guys send your application to the CPC Mississauga? I know that Canada Post's Registered Mail is more expensive than regular mail. Now i have a big file to send with registered mail i think its not going to be cheap.

Did you use Canada post or FedEx, UPS? How much did it cost?
Can I submit the application by hand? I live in Mississauga!

Thanks

unfortunatley you cannot drop off your application in person, has to be mailed/couriered in.
I used a UPS location in Mississauga, I think it was Burnhamthorpe and Hurontario, it cost $16 and was there first thing the next morning.

That is correct you can't drop it in person, use anyone but Canada post, UPS, DHL, Fed Ex, they got a far better tracking system then canada post and you'll get your signature updated almost straight away to show it was received

I also used UPS. Sent from Brampton to Mississauga, so not far. Was 5lbs and cost $20 to send. Arrived the next morning.

I didn't trust Canada Post and I find them to be more expensive.

Sorry my mistake, it was the UPS store on Eglinton and Hurontario. I went after work around 7pm and it was delivered at 8am the next day.

I would seriously advise to Not use Canada Post - seriously

Awesome! I wanted to go with Canada Post, but now that you said that, ill go with UPS.
Thanks guys!

The UPS address I used was 30 Eglinton Ave West, Mississauga. The guy that works there told me they get a lot of packages that are going to CIC.. he was super helpful!

UPS and FedEx both treat your package with professional attention. I wish I could says something remotely the same for Canada Post (3 times burned badly here)

Sent my wife's with Purolator. No issues and it was delivered on the Tuesday(sent on Friday, Monday was a holiday).

I probably could have done Sat, but I didn't know CPC worked on Sat (until recently). As an aside, they may work but not sure if their receiving is open sat(can anyone confirm?)

I sent my application package out this past Monday, but I used a private courier company. It only cost about $30 (I am local in the GTA) and it was picked up at my house and taken directly there and signed for by whomever takes it is Mississauga . Its a bit more than Canada post. I felt even safer than sending it FedEx or UPS where its shipped from one location, sorted and then put on a truck with other parcels and then delivered. I was even more paranoid after I read about people who sent their application package in and then it got lost. Albeit it, it rarely happens, but it was enough to make me want to invest in a courier as my application was a very thick package once I put it together.

Does anyone know if you receive an electronic confirmation that the package has been received at the Mississauga processing centre. When do we find out that they actual have receipt of it?

Thanks and good luck....

Oh i didnt know either that they work on Saturdays, i could win a day through that ;D

I sent mine via Xpresspost and added on a signature requirement. It cost me $12 and arrived the next day and I had no problems tracking it and viewing the signature.

I live in Mississauga too, nice to see some of you here are close by! :)

Also sent mine last Friday with ExpressPost, arrived on Monday.
I am also wondering when we hear something?
What is the next thing i should be looking for? (Common-Law sponsorship with OWP application sent)

I sent by xpresspost, it cost me 22$ (from Montreal).
I don't recommend.
They took a week to update status on website and cause me lots of unnecessary stress.
It was arrived on next day as promised but their tracking system...
I've complained and they refund me.
