We met on a gaming forum / IRC chat room when I was 15. I was friends with one of his "real life" friends. At first we'd always got into fights and hated each other but after a while we started to talk over AIM and figured out we shared a lot of interests. We were close long distance friends which grew into a crush. When we were 17 we decided to start an intimate relationship. When I was 18 I saved enough money to go visit him in NYC. Inseparable ever since. I'm now 25. Hehe

I met my husband on Christian Mingle.com. I knew the minute I started talking to him he was the one. It just made sense and it didn't matter that he was in another country, I'd do anything to be with him. And I did. From my parents telling me I'm crazy and getting a "prayer chain" going for my "safety", to getting denied at the border and having a permanent record for it, moving to the tip of the US to be as close as possible. You name it I did it. Love makes you do crazy things right? #worthit

Denied at the Canadian border? You have an NH (name hit) then, but that won't go away once you have PR, BUT there is an application you can file to get rid of it. Ask the officer when you land.

No wonder your application passed lightening fast!

my husband and I were introduced through a mutual friend!

i'm a flight attendant and my husbands best friend is a pilot for the company i work for..he told me i should meet up with his buddy and thought we'd go perfect together. So long story short I flew to Toronto and we went on a blind date =] =] We dated long distance for 2 years flying back and forth every weekend and now we are married living in Canada, planning on moving back to the US further down the road.

We met on a dating site. We decided to finally meet and since he had a US visa, we met in the States. We hit it off and have been best friends ever since. Married one year after meeting. Best decision I ever made.

Internet.
She was arguing with a friend of mine on a Facebook page and I defended her and now I'm sitting on our bed typing this :D

I'm in this boat too! I met my husband when I finally started to play well and joined a guild. Then we met accidentally again after he quit. (It was in a dungeon! :P)

This is how my husband and I met too! It's nice to see someone else meet in the same game :) We were both in the same guild but didn't talk too much then the guild broke up and after that I would see him in the world and recognize him and we'd end up talking for a couple hours. It just went from there!

I met my love at a party :) didn't know anybody and I was chilling with a guy that ditched me at the party, my now common law partner decided to introduce himself and when he reached to shake my hand by mistake poured a full beer on me, I was super embarrassed and left soon after that. Someone from that party added me on Facebook and I was kind of intrigue about that guy that made me smell like beer all night long, so I asked for his name and added him on Facebook( gotta add that before the guy added me I was looking for my now common-law on Facebook like a crazy person cuz I couldn't remember his name ) so he sent me an inbox I gave him my phone number and we met the same day at my friends place , that same day we started dating he said he didn't wanna miss the opportunity and well I didn't know him and I said YES hahaha best thing I have ever done in my life, we have been together for 3 years now and it seems like yesterday, love a first sight?? maybe... Destiny ?? I think so. Literally meant to be together , he is my best friend and the love of my life!!

We met on a dating site, lol. We emailed for two months, then i went to China to visit her. It was love at first sight, but also we are compatible in many ways.
I have been to china four trips. I remember the first trip, when i saw all the people, I said "holy moley". Well, we will be married two years this July. We can now talk together in English, and i am learning some Mandarin. This is the best thing that has happened to me. We talk every day, and hopefully the waiting will soon be over. Good luck all.

My fiance and I met online while we were in high school (we're 29 now!) in a student chat forum. We've been friends for 15ish years, and started dating 3.5 years ago. We dated long distance (Miami - Vancouver) for six months, another six of Seattle-Vancouver, and have been living together for just over two years :)

We just got engaged last month (yay!) and are eagerly awaiting PR....it'll be so nice not having to worry about CIC!

League of Legends for us! haha. He used to game with me ex, we became friends gaming together, and after the ex and I broke up, well.

Lots of gamers on here. Nice! Wish my wife liked to play. Ever since she moved up here, my gaming time has decreased drastically :P

So I'm curious!

I met my now husband on a depression chat room. We've maintained a long distance online relationship for 3 years, and now plan to submit our application in Aug! :D Neither of us were looking, it was random and unexpected. The most important night of my existence.

What about you guys?!

That is great SuiGeneris! 8) My wife and I met in a similar way on a forum site for anxiety and depression etc. I hadn't been on the site in awhile, and after a few days of being on there again my now wife messaged me :)

I was randomly looking at various profiles and peoples comments on the site and my wife noticed I looked at her profile and so she messaged me.. I would have never messaged her myself as she is significantly younger than I am, and also the last thing I wanted in my life was a long distance relationship (been there done that lol)

Anyhow we got to messaging and after a few days I asked her if she'd like to talk on the phone instead and she said yes. We started talking on the phone and just really hit if off and would be chatting for hours and hours at a time, sometimes 10+ hours a day lol. I suggested that she should come for a visit (it was easier for her to come here at the time) and she did, yay! She came here on a one way ticket and the border agent almost didn't let her through, and he actually called me at home to ask some questions. I guess he was happy that our stories lined up and he let her through, whew!

We met in person for the first time at the Moncton airport and it just seemed like a dream and like we had known each other for years instead of just days. Well long story short we figured on her maybe staying for a month but instead we would end up sending off a visitor extension around the 5th month mark of her being here and she was here a total of 364 days.. One week before she went back to Chicago we got married in a super simple ceremony with no one we knew personally lol.. It was just the officiator her husband and her sister as the witnesses and us.

When my wife was back in Chicago for the summer we started working on our forms and documents to apply for her PR, and we were also very worried that they might not let her back in to visit me again as we hadn't submitted anything yet. Well they let her back in no problem after the summer and we would end up applying and having granted another visitor extension, which is now voided by the fact she became a PR on June 15/2015 :)

Here's the timeline and dates lol: She first messaged me June 4/2013 She flew here July 1/2013 and stayed till June 29/2014. We were married June 22/2014 a week before she went back to Chicago. She flew back here again on Sept 13/2014 and we mailed off her PR application which arrived at the CIC mailroom Sept 24/2014. She became a PR on June 15/2015 and is still here to this day <3

I met her in South Korea when we were both there teaching English. We were part of the EPIK program whereby the 300 recruits were put into a university for an orientation for 7 days. She was one of them. We got talking after her roommate introduced us, as we were in the same class. She was drunk and talking to me, my room mate said she was flirting but I told him to shut up.

2 months later she moved in with me and we stayed for 2 years, before travelling round Asia, Canada, Iceland and UK. We've been living apart for 6 months and I can't wait until next week when I get to fly over!!

LOVE the depression chatroom story though :D
