Choosing a career based on just a reason to get Canadian immigration doesn't make sense. You should choose your path based your interest and capabilities. Canadian immigration plans and priorities changes like a weather. You never know by the time you get in your professional life none of these fields remain in a demand here in Canada and at that particular time a simple truck driver might be getting easy immigration as compare to a person who is in data science or BI developing.

So best is to choose in which you feel you can progress good no matter where you are living.

mubunderstanding is you need to be a full time student for a study permit plus for sure full time if you expect to work off campus for max 20 hours a week.

Data Science is in demand in Canada. However PG courses in data science are useless. When hiring data scientists, companies are looking for people with PhDs.

A PhD that's actually useful :)

Just to be clear - it's not that someone obtains a PhD in Data Science. It's that PhDs from certain disciplines are hired as Data Scientists.
