Yeah I guess every case is unique and different.

I will get my wife to confirm again with the public security bureau to see what's going on.

Now we have to deal with the chinese govt after dealing with CIC .... OH GOOD TIMES lol
China has a lot of rules and laws such as motorcyclists must wear helmets, traffic must stop at crosswalks, visitors must register within 24 hours at their local PSB if not staying at a hotel etc. but they aren't always enforced. :) But you don't want your wife to be stopped at the border.

Yeah we definitely dont want that to happen.
We know we have to get a exit permit for our baby girl. She was born in China but we never applied for a chinese passport or register her into the Hukou system. Instead I got her a CDN passport and a CDN citizenship certificate.

I have the same situation as you Dko, we applied for an exit permit for our baby son but not for my wife. I think it's because your wife cancel her Hukou that's why she need to have an exit permit ( I still don't understand why she cancel her hukou).

My son has the Canadian passport and citizenship paper already. we never register him on hukou ( we even register him with an English name LOL). Did they request you to make a DNA test?

The current fees are 199.4CNY based on:
CNY 155.10 - Secure transmission of passport to the Embassy of Canada in China upon request by visa office (for example, electronic application) Price per Passport
and
CNY 44.30 - Courier Delivery of Applications Price per Person

We read the wrong number and sent 215.5, they called us to say we sent to much and asked if we want to refund the 16.1CNY extra but it would maybe delay the process, so we said keep the extra.

As for the documents, check out page 168 of this thread for some good advice.

I read your post, so I also transfer 215.5, visa application center called me also, do you want to refund 215.5 then re-transfer 199.4, or give up 16.4 extra, I think corrier fee from shanghai to beijing also cost 16.4, so I said I give up extra.

We got our PPR today. Finally after almost 3 years(first application failed) we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Our immigration consultant has put together a really nice package for us, to make it easy to send. Also of note, the fees have gone up in price, and we have been told it will be 215.5rmb.

Sorry about that. Both my consultant and I came up with the same value. Not sure how we both got it wrong.

Congrats!
She was told from the public security bureau that she has to cancel her hukou first. Then once the cancellation is confirm she will need to go back to the bureau and apply for a exit permit.
For your son's exit permit how many forms did u have to fill out?
No DNA test request.

Hello,
It was mid-March my wife sent her passport to the Beijing visa office. And took about 3.5 weeks to get it back with visa and COPR.
U should get it soon.
