Every time I check my wife's e-CAS and scroll down the birth countries list to China I notice Bouvet Island in the "countries" list. Finally I looked it up and discovered that Bouvet Island is extremely desolate, uninhabited, has never had a birth, and has never been occupied for more than a year. The only building there is an automated meteorological station run by Norway.

An example of the things I do and notice while killing time in the long wait to get my life going together with my wife. CIC please rush in 2016.

You are not alone I do the same thing ;D
I agree CIC please rush in 2016

Toronto must be very busy. My wife is still waiting for the CIC office to contact us to do an inland landing. So tempted to do a flag pole run to the US, but wife is scared it might mess up her chances with the US when she tries to apply for visa

No movement on this forum, other Chinese forum and some QQ group of applicants which one of the guys here follows.
BTW, it would be good helpful to all if all current HK applicants would update their details in here, seems that not many did: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eOaxOWPSTJxIFaEYCcAYBAbzv62DPAUH9hYXZ3jSvfI/edit#gid=972172818

Hello happy 2016!
From CIC website, the HK VO processing is 11months, when do they start counting the time? The day they received the app, the day they said they are processing the app, or when they received the medical?

Since there is no stamp/record of her land border reentry I tend to think she will require an extension. Once you submit your extension request, she will be on implied status even if her current visa (stamp) past due.

Thank you for the info. we just went to US and the officer has give us 3 months extension (need to ask for it). Will try to submit the extension request online.

Glad to hear it worked out for you at the border. Happy New Year!

Hi there hoping to get some clarification. I just checked CIC's website for application processing time. The website looks different compared to last week. Anyhow I wanted to check the processing time to sponsor a spouse living outside of Canada. The website showed 26 months which includes assessment of sponsor 62days.
It doesn't show a breakdown for which visa post. Last week when I checked it showed 11 months with the visa post in Hong Kong. Anyone else experience this today on CIC's website? Thanks!

Yes I saw it not sure if it's not split in VO anymore

You can still get access to specific VO info through the open data portal: http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/5c003561-ce36-4881-a5a4-c30f9f456690
Looks like CIC don't want to share it on their website anymore.

August would be my guess, with May at the very lucky end and December at the unlucky end.

Hopefully your forum name is not an indicator ... dlee_ca sounding like delay CA. ::)
