Holder of Canadian PR. Wants to move to NZ

I'm asking this for a friend who's been in Canada for over 4 years now. He had studied for one year and worked all this while and has the PR card. Now he wants to move to New Zealand and do the same i.e. study for a year and work. If he happens to do this, will his PR be revoked or something? Anybody can throw some light?

He has to live in Canada for 2 out of every 5 rolling years to keep his PR status.
