Hello, everyone!

First off, I would like to apologize for if this thread/question is posted in the wrong topic category.

Anyways, my husband and I have been living together in the United States (my home country) for almost three years now. We've been married two years out of those three. We have finally decided to move to Canada. He, my husband, is originally from Toronto, and will be sponsoring my move up there. We have yet to apply for the sponsorship, so I am a bit unaware about what is on the application and what might hold us back from moving to Canada. You see, I was unable to finish high school and I really can't get my GED (for personally reasons). Which, has me concerned that might affect our big move. So, my question is: Can my spouse sponsor my move to Canada, even though I am a high school "dropout"?

If this bit of information helps: He has graduated from college. I have had steady (unskilled) jobs, performed well at each of them. Our overall health is good. My husband and I are not, and have never been, criminals. We do not have any children.

Thanks for the help!

The level of education is irrelevant for spousal sponsorship. What you have to think about is when do you want to move to Canada and do you want to work in Canada during the process. As your husband is (I presume) a Canadian citizen, you can apply while being both in the USA and officially move to Canada only after your PR is approved. I say officially, because you could come as a visitor before getting your PR, but you will not be allowed to work in Canada until you are a PR.

If you both come to Canada and apply inland, you can apply for an open work permit.

Approximate timeline for inland: 4 months to get the OWP, about 12 months to get PR.
Outland are generally faster, I often heard about 6 months for USA citizens.

It doesn't affect your application at all. Not to worry
