high priority update needed for work permit application

hello
i just wanted to know that i had applied for Canada work permit
it has been already 4 months passed to it and there is not any result
how ever, i have also received one query letter from Bangaloreimmigration department of Canada
but it has been 1.7 month passed to it
i am just wanted to know this from you that is it fine to send an email to the consulate general directly
won't be it getting adversely affected on my visa application ?
i am totally depend on you so please reply me for this so i can send an email to them with my file number for the status of my application
