Hepatitis B!! Please help

Parents did medicals in India. Everything was normal but my mom found out she is hepatitis B positive. The doctor from CIC panel informed her that she is positive for Hep B and she can get it checked from their family doctor and get treatment as needed.
CIC hospital result : HBSag - Positive

Mom did tests on her own as recommended by her doctor. Her results
HBEag - Positive
HBEab - Negative
AST - 26 U/L
ALT - 16 U/L
ALP - 135 U/L
Hepatitis B Viral (HBV DNA Quantitative) - 32 IU/L

Doctor said she is fine no need to worry. But here is the thing, they never checked for Hbsab (hepatitis surface antibodies) as the doctor said there is no need. All the tests are done. He also didn't say how old the virus was and all that. I thought there is a way to tell if it was recent infection or if it chronic.

I am not sure but I thought HBSab is an important test if HSBag is positive as that is the test CIC panel hospital did. I just wanted to make sure there is no further treatment required and this won't impact her file. Even though the cic panel hospital did not call her again after her medical and we haven't hear back from cic, is it safe to go see a speacialist at the CIC panel hospital and have them look at the latest tests and see what they say about that?

Please let me know. I am freaking out

Is that HB 'c' ag and and HB 'c' ag. I don't think that was checked.

Yes core would be "C".

Based on there being a detectable viral load and positive surface antigen, she has Hep B (as you already know). There is no utility for the surface antibody in this case. Surface antibody is done to determine is the person is immune because they were vaccinated or because they saw the virus. The vaccine doesn't contain "E" antigens and thus if "E" antibody is present, it means the patient has seen the virus. The viral load is quite low but treatment guidelines and protocols vary depending on what country you are in. I recommend seeing an infectious disease specialist in the country the patient is in to determine what the guidelines are.

Hi. I'm a HepaB reactive. I don't remember the terms or tests I did but 1 thing I can say to help you not worry much is that my medicals have been passed since the beginning. Although, I had to come back and forth to the panel physician to prove that my condition is not contagious. I had tests done here in my hometown and was referred to a Gastro doctor to clear me with the disease. Mine was chronic, but it does not pose a threat to Canada's welfare or the like. My GCMS notes even stated that I had a condition but again, nothing that threatens my entering to Canada. I am nearing towards the end of our application. My BC went in progress last week and just waiting for PPR.

The doctor is saying no further tests are needed and he even wrote a certificate saying no further treatment required. We are very confused.

Thanks! that's great that you passed medical. The problem is that the cic panel doctor didn't ask for further treatments yet and didn't even do any additional tests so not sure what's going to happen. When did you order the GCMS notes?

Did your mom try to ask them? In my case, I declared it upfront then they requested for further tests. Once I completed them, they sent my records to CIC. We ordered twice already, last dec 2016 which we received early january 2017 - nothing much was written so we ordered again at that moment. So we got our 2nd set early February. There was an officer note at the last page which we were very happy to see

ok. It's not the CIC doctor who said there is nothing wrong. My mom did some test with her own doctor who said that. Anyway we will have to wait and see. thanks

I am a newbie here in canadavisa forum and would like to know some details and guidance which can be useful on our application. I have the same case with you Queeen.14, I am HepB Reactive. I just knew it last year, the time me and my wife decided to have a full body check up. Is it okay with you, to provide guidance on my case? Do you also have HBV dna test, I have this test and its low.

please i have an issue with my hepatitis b case. i did test then in 2015 everything is normal except a 3 month drug used cos of viral load of 125,000 ui/ml, when i discovered it during pregnancy test. I did test now in june and have hbv dna 79ui/ml and hbsag +, hbeag - and anti-hbe +, abdominal uss - normal, LTS-ALT slightly elevated at 37.6 reference <= 34. my specialist said no need for drug. can I still go ahead and declare I have hepatitis b during medical or I keep quiet. please is there any hope of getting this.
