Help with new PR card

I have been in Canada now for 3 weeks. I still have my sin card and have a job offer, I am awaiting my appeal for not meeting requirements. Can i apply for a new PR card or temp one just so I have a updated card for when I cross the border? Do I need a new one while waiting? I have supplied my sin card to my new job and I understand that's ok as its a permanent resident sin.
Any answers will be fantastic.
