Hi All,

I have a 9 months of experience in which i got paid on T4 + 2 months of contract + 7 months of contract position for which i am getting regular salary but not T4 and will be doing my own taxes.

So I am just wondering if that adds up to my 12 months of experience even if I dont have the T4?

Please help. :(

I am a Software developer so my NOC is fine.

Hello,
You can not file PR under CEC if you are self employed (as you mentioned you dont have T4s). You have to have 1 yr of full time paid work experience.

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

I can get T4A for my work and also i have the work contract and my employer can write all the info needed for the reference letter.

Just wondering if T4s will do .?

I have read many posts related to that and it looks it should be fine with T4A!

And I have proper T4 for 9 months its just 3 months. :-s

No. T4A is issued for self employed people. T4 are for employees. Self employed experience doesn't count.

Hi

Please check this link

The guy actually received Medical through CEC for T4A.

Is there any difference?

Thanks

Yes. Postdoc.

You can try it, but they will not accept self employment for CEC purposes...

But it doesn say anywhere that they will accept T4a for postdocs and not for software engineers or developers. :((

The guy received a t4 and t4a. You file all your own taxes- you are technically self employed.

I have T4 already and will get a T4a now and i called at cic as well they said the same that i can file with the letter explaining t4a.

Over that i will try convincing my boss today to give me t4.

lets see

You can only get a T4 if your employer has paid your taxes.

If you get a T4A, you file your own taxes and are deemed to be self employed!

Good luck whatever you do.

my employers going to do the taxes and give me t4s its all good

Hi Jsm

The part of my 1 year experience for CEC was gained under implied status... Does that matter?

Please advice.

this is surprising, how can you be on an implied status for an year? Can you explain?

I said "part" of one year of experience. So my work permit expired on september 27 2012, And till then i had 9 months of experience and I applied for a work permit on spousal basis and I am expecting to receive a reply next week so its been almost 6 months since i have been on implied status. And I wanted to know If this can be counted as my work experience.

Thanks
