Hi guys, hope someone can help me today so here my story I came in Canada 10 years ago has refugee and I’m now a permanent resident. But during this period I renewed my nationality passeport and went to Algéria .. didn’t know could be a problem. Now I want to travel really soon wondering If i use my algérien passeport ? Or I apply for a travel document? because in the application for the Refugee travel document they ask if went back in my county and if I renewed my passeport ? What should o do ? Thanks in advance !

Your question has already been answered in the refugee section of the forum. Do not use your renewed passport to travel. You have to obtain a travel document.

I know but I had a consultation with a immigration lawyer and he told me I can use my passeport so I’m confuse now

He isn't a very good lawyer if that's what he told you. Don't use him further - he's living you wrong advice.

Forgive me for the bluntness, but if I have to break it down:

The immigration lawyer won't get deported from Canada for giving faulty advice, but you very well may for travelling on your Algerian passport or travelling to Algeria.

If you still don't believe us, read the following link:

That's the website of the Canadian Council for Refugees. Way more trustworthy than whatever shady lawyer you have.
