Received this email today:

"This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

In order to continue the processing of your application, we request you to submit the following documents/information:

- Please provide our office an updated IMM0008 form (Schedule 1) including complete information since de age of 18 up to day. 15 days are given to submit the required information."

****
1. Why would this be requested when they already have all of this information?

2. Are we supposed to submit ONLY Schedule 1, or the entire general application AND Schedule 1?

Thanks

ONLY the Schedule 1. This is not an unusual request, except I can't recall seeing it for an applicant being processed in Mexico before.

Just submit the form again, ensuring all the information is current.

OK thanks CharlieD. Mexico seems to love asking us for one document at a time with a couple months break in between each request - so thought I better attempt a pre-emptive strike this time around!

No, they might be finalizing the application and require an updated form because of the dates when the information was filled in on the original application? I can see them asking for updated information if, say for example, you completed the application over a year ago, and your medical is close to expiring now, which I see it is.

Just searched for the form on CIC and it appears that the Schedule 1 we originally submitted is now called Schedule A. Should we use the older Schedule 1 form seeing as that is what is asked for in the email; or should we complete the new Schedule A?

I'd send both just to be certain. Just put a not before hand telling them you sent both the old and new form because you weren't sure which one they wanted. Both ask for mostly the same info anyway, but just to cover yourself.

One more question (I hope!): There is a form called "Supplement to Schedule 1" included in the country specific forms for Mexico. I wonder if that form should be submitted again as well to be safe? Although there is no information on that form that I can see that would need to be updated.

Yes, to be on the safe side, as it is included in the region specific guide, complete that form again as well. Even if it doesn't need updating.
