Help! TRV online application from U.S.

Hi,
I applied for TRV online from U.S. on 27th Jan. Almost 40 day passed, still don't receive passport request.
My planning trip starts from 17th March. I am afraid i will miss my trip.
Can anyone share his/her recent application timeline?
By the way, which is the fastest way to get passport back when final decision is reached?

Hi, I submitted online application on Feb 20 and got passport request on Feb 25.
I just checked application status with VAC representative earlier today. He said my passport is in visa office right now.
I don't know why your case takes so much time. Though some other people also waited a long time before getting the passport request, I don't think it's the normal case. Maybe you can contact CIC for help.

How can you contact VAC or CIC? I tried to email them, but no response.

I heard all online applications from U.S. are approved by Ottawa CPC (I'm not sure). If that's true, NYC (or LA) VAC won't have your information before receiving your passport. But CIC website also says only applications within Canada should call their number. So... I don't know. Maybe you can call VAC to have a try... At least someone will answer your phone instead of a voice mail... Their number is on their website.

I saw several posts in other forums said they waited like 2 months before getting a request.
The CIC website says you can fill a case specific inquiry if your case exceeds the normal processing time.
So I think you can... though there's no guarantee they'll reply you... :-X

Those sites are in Chinese... and sorry... I can't find most posts I read...
Here's a case of 32 days' waiting. Actually the visa office became quite efficient after sending the request. The total time was only 37 days. I think you can read the numbers in timeline no matter you can read Chinese or not...
