HELP!! Trouble submitting/signing the online application?

I'm trying to submit a tourist visa application for two people but...I'm completely stuck on the last part where we have to electronically sign it by typing our names in. How does it work??? Should I put the names as Name & Name in Given name(s) and then LastName in the Last Name box or should I separate it by commas, or should I switch the names around??? I originally put in just the applicant's name in, but it still didn't work! I tried everything... please help!!! I keep getting this message:

Your answer is incomplete. Provide the necessary information below to continue.

•The name, date of birth or country of birth you entered for your signature does not match the name you entered in your Online Application. To submit this Online Application, the names must match. Only the applicant can electronically sign this Online Application.


Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!!

I finally realized my problem...I feel extremely stupid now. But for those of you who are like me a while ago, getting super annoyed and frustrated at the system...here was how I resolved my issue: I went back and checked all my documents and files. I realized that I put the applicants' place of birth as Guangzhou, and the country as the United States of America... I feel like an idiot now, but I hope the rest of you have found this useful... *phew*

On which form was the mistake ? Did it work immediately after you corrected the country of birth ?
I have the same problem except that it seems my date and place of birth are correctly entered.

I am having the same problem has anyone got any help from CIC as to how we solve the problem???

I had similar issue and I have been trying for 4 to 5 days.. I tried calling LA Canada Consulate & the Seattle Consulate but they dont know anything abt this.

Today I could successfully submit the application. I followed the following procedure.

- First of all I created a new GC account and I made sure the I recheck the Given name, last name , DOB & Country to match with the IMM5257. Also check for the case sensitivity

- Then proceed with your normal process of filling all the questions & uploading of the documents

- While signing the application make sure u type the same name as u did in the 5257 . It should work!!!

Yup i just got mine sent away after 4 days of constant frustration,what i done is revoked my cic account and created a new username and password, i then filled out a new application form IMM1295, the only difference i made when filling it out is my country of birth, i was born in northern ireland and have a republic of ireland passport, which is how i filled out the application form the first time, however the second time i made them the same and put country of birth as republic of ireland to match my passport. I then validatd the form submitted and tried sending it off and hey presto. Thats what worked for me hopefully it helps someone else.
