Help! status expires tomorrow and CIC website down

The CIC website has been down all day they haven't provided an ETA yet

My visitor status expires tomorrow

If CIC is down the whole day can I still apply online on October 18 if my expiry is October 18?

The website just isn't working since last night

Will I be considered out of status if I apply October 18 and expiry is October 18??

Sorry I cannot advise on what's gonna happen, I don't know the process of extending a visitor status.. but you probably should not have waited until the last minute to do this..?

I'm having the same problem. I hope they'll be lenient with the deadline because of the site problem but if not assume that you're already out of status. Even applying in paper form, I don't think it would reach them on time.

You have to extend your status 30 days before it expires, not last minute.

No - you do not have to extend your status 30 days before it expires. The 30 days is a guideline and not a rule. As long as CIC receives the application before your status expires - it's fine.
