Congratulations Valeco. I am happy for you and your family. It must be a great relief. I hope I experience it soon. No new about any interview yet.

Did you send police clearance and medicals upon sending your application? And they ask you to redo it?

wow been in the POS office for two months and never heard of AIP approval in principle, am a fail refugee so could you clarify on that AIP for me plzzz thanks

Hello, but AIP,is only for people who applied inland

Valeco, nitohah, and amiely, (or anyone who has had their files transferred to CIC for interview before AIP)

Did you guys receive any letter saying that you have been approved as sponsors before receiving the notification that your file was transferred? I received such a letter 2 weeks ago but haven't received any AIP letter. I heard from most people who get AIP that they get both letters together, so I'm trying to determine if this delay means that they are transferring our file for interview.

I'm sponsoring my husband who is also a failed refugee claimant, and I'm so worried that we're going to get sent in for interview because as you know, the longer we wait, the greater the risk of him getting asked to leave the country.

We are in the same boat , I received the letter saying i met the eligilbility requirement to sponsor my wife (she is a failed refugee too) and they said her permanent resident application will be process separally she havent received any letter for her own I only had that letter i just state above , my wife still have a valid working permit for 5years from her refugee claim she havent received any departure order yet or any sign from CBSA , I dont if its good sign or no , we havent received any letter saying the file has been transfer to the local office
lets stay in touch

wow guys thats risky stuff, to have a fail refugee and apply inland. i twisted at night wondering if i was gonna do the same thing but it was a risky thing to do especially if u have a fail refugee, usually it take around 8 months after your fail refugee to get a departure order, and depends on the officer he will have so discretion if you have an application inland and you facing a departure order, some officers are so cruel they will deport u anyways. wish yourl guys best of luck hope u get a good officer and make sure to report to cbsa on time, and follow everything they say to the last, it will give them an idea that you are really compliant and might have some lenianse

When did they send you the letter? They sent mine feb. 4th; I received it maybe 4 days later.

@millslu, thanks for the good wishes :)

the work permit for 5 yrs doesnt mean anything, right now just focus on buying yourself time right now, did she apeal the refugee case, if not you need to play close attention to the processing time and maybe 7-8 months . if you think you are cutting it close then get yourself a councellor NOTE not a lawyer a councellor to buy you time. i went through this myself but i did an outside application before i got removed i also had a 5 yr work permit but doesnt mean a thing when they ready to remove u.
