Hello. I have Canadian PR which expires at the end of November 2014. Till date, I have only accumulated 122 days out of the required 730, which means I still have approx 610 days to fulfill. My question is, supposing I go to Canada in March of 2013 (I calculated that from March 2013 till Nov 2014 its roughly 610 days), will I have to stay in the country continuously until I have fulfilled 610 days, or will I be able to enter and leave whenever, until my PR card expires? The last time I was in Canada for a short visit, they gave me a bit of a hard time at Immigration, wanting to know why I had been out of the country for so long and I'm worried that if I have to leave for a short period, say a few weeks, inbetween March 2013 and the day my PR expires, they may not let me back in the country since I haven't fulfilled my 730 days :(

They have to let you in but if they believe you do not meet the residency requirements and are unable to meet them on your 5 year PR anniversary even if you were to stay in Canada until then, they can report you for not meeting the residency requirements which means basically they start proceedings to revoke your PR. You can appeal this but if you don't have a good reason, you may lose your appeal.

Thank you so much for your quick reply! If they start proceedings will I be able to stay in Canada, or will I have to leave before a decision is reached? Also, I'm currently working for an MNC company based in Dubai (originally a Korean company), would that count towards my days since it is a multinational?

No - the days worked for the multi-national won't count towards your residency.

If they start proceedings, you can remain in Canada (and definitely should remain in Canada) until a decision is reached.
