Help please

Hi friends,

Extremely useful site!
Please excuse me if I say anything out of the cue as I am new to the site.
My question is that my husband is sponsoring me under Family Class, and Im interested in doing this Masters course in Women and Gender studies from Carleton University.

a) Can I apply to the university already or would I be jumping the gun?
b) I do realise that I need to get the equivalency done from the University of Toronto. Can someone please shed more light on the concept of equivalency and what it entails?
c) Can I work while studying?

Too many questions. Im sorry if they dont make sense.

I'll answer two questions:

a) Yes - you can apply now. If you are accepted and want to start attending before your PR is granted, then you will have to apply for a study permit and will have to pay out of country tuition fees (typically much higher than the fees paid by Canadians). If you wait until you become a PR before you start attending, then you will not need a study permit and will pay domestic tuition fees.

c) If you have PR status, then you can work. If you don't have PR status, then for the first six months you can only work on campus. After attending school for six months you can qualify for an off-campus permit that will allow you to work off campus part time.
