Hi Guys, Need a help.

I am on an ICT WP in Canada since 2012 and have my VISA and WP valid till end of 2014. My spouse has a OWP and is currently having a full time job.

My job is getting very stressfull and I am planning to resign from my job. I understand that I cannot work for any other employer till LMO is processed. I am ready to take a break right now.

My questions are:

1) Can my employer cancel my and my spouse's Work Permit and/or VISA?
2) Can I still continue to live in Canada without working?
3) CAn my spouse continue working on Spouse open WP?

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

1) No
2)Yes
3)Successfully...

My advice is apply ur spouse for study permit 2 to 3 years course and change your status to dependent and apply for open work permit. So that you will have your own way to work for any employer....

Thanks Kalpan for the reply.

It's good to know that my spouse can still work.
We are apply for the PR under CEC in next week or so. I will be able to apply for the Bridge Open WP by July 2014 once we get our AOR number. Right now, we only need that one of us should keep working so that we can earn enough for day-to-day expenses.

Hi,
Can you tell me the process of Bridge extension in brief....bcause, i would be in a situation after some time...hope u understand

Once you get your AOR number, you can apply for the Bridge opn WP provided your current WP is expiring in the next 4 months.
