Yeah.. i saw that too. I really hope the barcodes will expedite the processing. My questions is though, do you put both page 4 (the ones with multiple barcodes) and page 5 (which has barcodes AND my signature) of the application for permanent residency on the front of the whole package? Or just page 4?? I'm afraid that they'll think I don't sign the application for permanent residency if I don't stack them together..

Am I just going crazy here?? ???

thanks awor, i did look over them too, i was getting crazy :o

as a personal note we've been doing this for so many months now that i really don't want to read other guides and fill them in again...i start to feel time pressure...

these forms r good for the some new system which will read the bar codes; they estimate this system will b at the embassies by the end of this year, but as they r slow in general it might b longer, for now it looks that they don't have this system in place everywhere

there r a few differences which confuse me so i prefer not to think abt it; for example they ask abt csq and from the way they ask the question we should have applied for csq already, which normally should happen after we send this form; they specify to reprint the same form in case we don't have space which we did not, we just wrote on a separate sheet of paper cuz that was their suggestion before; also now they say that any translation should b accompanied by an affidavit of the translator, i hope it does not refer to certified translators....:/

I'll find the link (just double checked this myself this morning), but they want the pages with the bar codes (which includes the signature page) to be placed on the very top of the application, before all forms and other proof. You can paper clip the barcode/signature page to the actual application (IMM 0008) if you're worried about it getting lost.

I'm almost positive Buffalo has the system - they had a big system upgrade not too long ago and I can't imagine that this wasn't the upgrade they were doing it for.

I'm not sure about CSQ, maybe someone else can help (maybe start a new thread), or just use the old forms... it's 50/50 if these new forms will speed things up this early, because the VOs have been trained with the old ones and will still be getting used to the new ones... who knows?

The guide to immigrating (pdf linked on that page) says basically the same thing.

Complete, validate, print, sign and date your application forms

To ensure you submit all the pages:

IMM 0008:
Click on the “Validate” button at the top or bottom of the form. (Note: Validating the form before printing ensures you have answered all the questions and will avoid delays in processing your application.)
A last page with barcodes and a signature line will automatically be created.
Print, sign and date the form :
Print on white, bond-quality and non-glossy paper
Use of a laser printer is recommended
Place the barcode page on the top of each individual package.

More information about the barcode:

If it were me, I'd use the new ones.
Hi, friends, if you guys are talking about Generic IMM 0008, be careful, they said that if you don't use the new format (the one generating bar codes) "your aps will be returned as incomplete".

I just noticed a big difference in IMM1344 old and new.. the new ones don't account for the possibility of conjugal partners at all and don't even mention it. Do you think I would be able to use the old IMM1344 and the rest new forms? :o
