I am currently in Canada on pgwp and my husband received a work permit the same length as my pgwp.
We want to move for vacation in the summer and we are not clear about the TRV application. I am using my GIC account and filled in my information, I enter Yes for the question " Do you want to submit an application for a family member? " to submit also the TRV application for him, but when I need to answer the question "What does your family member want to do in Canada? " the available options there are 1. Apply to remain in Canada as a visitor 2. Apply for or extend an open work permit. 3. Apply for or extend a study permit 4. Apply for or extend both a work permit and a study permit.
Does your family member want to restore theirstatus in Canada? No
We do not know which of these options is for my husband, because we expected to be there with the option of a Temporary Resident Visa. Option 2,3,4 is not for him because he holds an open work permit but if I select option 1, are we risking getting a visitor record instead of TRV?
