Hi all,

I'm currently working on my Study Permit application, specifically the proof of financial support section. I'm quite confused as to what to submit for this, as there doesn't seem to be a concrete way to prove this. My uncle in Canada will be paying for all my expenses (tuition, board and lodging, food, etc.) for my 1 year study program.

What are the documents do I have to submit? For instance, do I need a copy of my uncle's bank statements and photocopies of our birth certificates proving our blood relationship? Hope someone can help me out!

Thanks!
Simon

You should submit the Letter of Acknowledgement (Affidavit) from your sponsor that he is willing to sponsor your studies, and attach his bank statements (4 Months Past Period At-least) and pay slips/income sources,Tax Documents, And if you have paid any fees like first semester or your whole studies, and board then attach their receipts in this section also. in short you should attach the documents which will show that he is well established in Canada and can easily sponsor your studies and is willing to do so.

Thanks talhaixlam. If I'll be staying with my uncle though, and he's paying for the rent, does he simply have to say in the Affidavit that I'll be staying with him and that he's in charge of my food and lodging?

Yes, If you are planning of doing this then he must mention that in his affidavit, but It may be cause of the rejection of the visa as it shows that you will settle in Canada and this shows your strong Ties in Canada as your uncle is well settled and you can settle with him too. I hope you get my point.
