Help! My application was rejected even though I had 479 points!

Hi guys,

I wonder if you guys can help me out. Have any of you had your application rejected despite being eligible and having enough points?
I have requested my casefile, with the reason for refusal, but that won't come for a while. But while I wait, I'd like to know what documents that were requested from you, because a friend of mine who is also applying under CEC was asked for several more documents than me, which confused us both. OR what your reasons for refusal are.

Hello, I am sorry to hear this. Can you provide more context? What was the reason for the refusal? The officer would have stated that in the refusal letter...

They don't provide one! You have to request your GCMS notes under the Privacy Act so they can give specific details about your application and reason for rejection.

What was the last update you've got on your account before they gave you the rejection letter? There are tons of reasons could cause a refusal.

While you wait, you should prepare a new profile and get ready to re-apply.

Without a lot more information, it's not even possible to guess at the reason for refusal. I'll hazard it anyway, as I did review your earlier posts, there seems to have been some confusion about eligibility criteria as well as the meaning of a valid job offer (did you claim having a valid job offer?) - if you claimed points for a valid job offer and it was determined to not meet the criteria, your points would have been reduced by 50 and then you would have to check and see if you still met the point threshold for your draw.
