hi folks,

sub: Indian parents need Visitor Medical Insurance.

I study in University of Calgary and my parents will visit Canada in April to Sept (165 days).
My father : 75 years old, had a heart attack in 2011 but stable from then. No hospitalization after that.
He takes regular medications (aspirin etc.) and will bring with him from India.
Mother: 61 years old, completely healthy.

I checked with "Safevisit insurance" and they asked my price of $ 1500 for my father and $ 1000 for my mother.
It is too expensive for me.

I already checked policybazar.com and getting similar price from "Religare insurance".
Kindly advice me any Indian insurance company which can cover their medical insurance.

suggestions pls............. :)

Best regards,
Rashmi

Check manulife via Costco. It may have something cheaper. But for the age mentioned its going to be costly.

You could consider an insurance company which has partnerships with global insurance companies/will reimburse.

Your dad may get a coverage of only USD 50,000 even if you're willing to pay higher premiums. Do check if pre-existing medical conditions are included. The policy dates must also include flight dates

You may want to check TataAIG, HDFC ERGO, Aviva, Bharti AXA, etc

Hi all,

I am in a similar situation, I am in Ontario and my parents will be visiting for 141 days.

Do you recommend that I buy insuracne for them here or is it better to get a policy from back home (India)?

hi,

The price is same either you buy from India or Canada.
Canadian companies directly deals with hospitals.

Buy manulife insurance policy from Costco wholesale store.
Type in Google "manulife Costco".
cheapest option in Canada.
